French Partner Hands Over Mường Thanh Bridge Lighting System

ĐBP – The lighting system for the Mường Thanh Bridge was officially handed over on the evening of May 5th in Thanh Bình Ward, Điện Biên Phủ City.

Leaders present at the handover ceremony included Patricia Mirallès, the Minister of State for Veterans and Remembrance of France, and Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the Điện Biên Province Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

The Mường Thanh Bridge lighting system was sponsored by the French Development Agency in Việt Nam and the City of Lyon, France. It was installed by lighting experts from Lyon City in collaboration with relevant units in Điện Biên Province.

During her speech at the handover ceremony, Patricia Mirallès emphasized the significance of the Mường Thanh Bridge lighting system. She highlighted that it symbolised a spirit of reconciliation, reflecting the two countries' commitment to "setting aside the past and striving for a brighter future" through cooperation and friendly development.

In response, Nguyễn Minh Phú, Director of the Điện Biên Province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed that the Mường Thanh Bridge lighting system was a meaningful project, especially when it was completed on the occasion of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory 70th Anniversary. The department would like to thank the French Embassy and the French Development Agency in Việt Nam for assigning experts from Lyon City to support the province in designing and installing the lighting system. This will be an ideal tourist destination contributing to the province's tourism growth. The lighting system installation would open up more opportunities for the two countries to cooperate and help each other in the spirit of openness, friendship, respect for history and towards the future, he said.

At the ceremony, representatives together performed procedures to transfer the technical documents of the lighting system.
